Jim and Irene Robinson establish Val Vista Ranch, raising crops, cattle, and three sons. But their biggest legacy? Community. In 1960, they donate land that would become the Springbank Park For All Seasons—a reflection of their belief in giving back.

Brothers Keith and John Robinson run a custom harvesting business across North America. They battle tornadoes in Kansas, floods in Montana, and Alberta border guards—not necessarily in that order. The journey teaches them resilience and inspires a shift toward serving communities closer to home.

Armed with one truck and an ambitious newspaper ad, John Robinson launches Green Drop Lawns Ltd.—Western Canada’s first lawn care company. Demand explodes overnight. The phone rings off the hook. One truck quickly turns into many.

Despite a tornado on opening day, our Edmonton branch launches strong. Soon after, Winnipeg joins the family, followed by Red Deer, Regina, and Saskatoon. Each new branch carries the same values that started it all.

Green Drop introduces tree care services in the Winnipeg market, launching with two tree healthcare spray trucks focused on fertilization, insect management, and disease control. This marks the beginning of a journey into urban forestry care.

Full-Service residential Tree Care debuts in Winnipeg, expanding services to include basic pruning—bringing arborist-level attention to local neighbourhoods

We adopt modern arboriculture techniques, including professional tree climbing and rope access. Green Drop begins the process of certifying staff through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), laying the groundwork for expert-driven service.​

Our residential tree care services flourish, becoming a key component of our Winnipeg operations.

Green Drop secures its first municipal tree pruning contract with the City of Winnipeg—pruning more than 500 boulevard trees and establishing our presence as a trusted public partner.

We open our dedicated Tree Care Customer Care Centre in Winnipeg, reinforcing our commitment to service excellence.

Tree planting services are added in Winnipeg, completing our residential tree care offerings.

Tree planting expands into municipal work with our first public tree planting contract, underscoring our capabilities in both planning and execution.

Innovation meets convenience with the launch of our online estimating platform. Customers now receive clear, detailed, and visual estimates—complete with services, site maps, and photos—entirely online​
